Walk for the Environment (20 October 2002)

In order to raise fund for the Conservancy Association, 16 volunteers had participated in the Walk for the Environment 2002, a charity walk which enabled volunteers to explore the natural Ramsa Wetland.

NWS Holdings has joined the Corporate Afforestation Scheme launched by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department. Nearly 200 NWS staff and their family members planted young seedlings to revitalize the woodland near the Main Dam of High Island Reservoir. The officiating guests of the activity were Mr Liu Kwei-kin, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation; Mrs Mei Ng, Director of Friends of the Earth (HK); and Mr K L Chan, Chief Executive Officer of NWS Holdings.

In echoing the Nature / Mountain Conservation Ambassadors scheme launched by the Social Welfare Department, NWS Holdings appointed three Conservation Ambassadors to help promote nature conservation.
