Corporate Sustainability for Schools Programme (18 December 2009)

Being a Corporate Partner of the Corporate Sustainability for Schools Programme organized by Business Environment Council, NWS Holdings strives to promote corporate sustainability to secondary school students. The Group organized a visit to the Plant of New China Laundry Limited on 18 December 2009 for students to learn about its new green facilities and the Group's sustainability strategy.

Beach Cleaning Activity (11 October 2009)

A total of 23 members of NWS Volunteer Alliance participated in a beach cleaning activity organized by Association for Geoconservation, Hong Kong at Ma Shi Chau on 11 October 2009. Volunteers learnt about the geological features of Ma Shi Chau and cleaned up the island by collecting rubbish on the beach.

Hong Kong Carfree Day 2009 (22 September 2009 )

To mitigate climate change, NWS Holdings supported the Greenpeace Hong Kong Carfree Day 2009 on 22 September 2009 by appealing to staff to use public transport or travel on foot that day.

Green Roof Site-visit (2 March 2009 )

On 2 March 2009 NWS Environmental Committee organized for Green Managers and environmental team members a site-visit to the research green roof established by Professor C.Y. Jim, Chair Professor of Geography of the University of Hong Kong, a local expert on roof greening. Over 50 participants had the opportunity to share Professor Jim's expert knowledge.

Green Power Hike (28 February 2009)

Sponsored by NWS Charities Foundation, a corporate team was formed to join the Coporate/Organization Cup of the Green Power Hike on 28 February 2009.
